My Dream

I believe that every person has a dream. A dream that will be their inspiration as the wheel of life continues to roll. Life without a dream is like joining a race without a finish line. You strive hard to be the number one but still you can’t win because it doesn't have an end. I'll quote what Hans Selye said, “Those who are realistic and practical are less realistic and practical in the long run than those who dream big dreams and passionately pursue them.” But the best part of dreaming is that you can dream as high as the impossible for free. There are no boundaries--only possibilities .

What is your dream? Perhaps if you will ask a college student like me with this question you will only obtain a relatively same answer and that is to finish studies. Well its true. I want to finish my degree and become a Certified Public Accountant and perhaps someday, become a CPA Lawyer. That was my long time dream. That’s why I'm striving hard in my studies. Sleepless nights are already a normal routine for me. It is not easy for me to concentrate well in my academics because I also have co-curricular activities particularly in the Student Council and in another organization. But despite of the hardships that I encounter, I still remain to stand it all because I believe that it’s all a part of being a leader. Being a leader means sacrifice. A good leader knows how to balance everything but still prioritize what is more important. And as a student, studies must be above everything else.

Some people are asking me why I am keeping myself busy to things that do not give me pay in return. I always answer them with another question. Is money the only thing that can make you happy? I do all of these stuff because I want to serve my fellow students. It gives me a satisfying feeling whenever I cater the needs of my constituents. They endowed their trust in me that’s why I have the responsibility to take good care of that trust. In the future as professionals, we will all become leaders. So why not start training myself right now? That’s one thought that have come on my mind why did I accepted such big responsibilities.

Everybody dreams to be happy. But that happiness cannot be achieved by dreaming alone. Dreaming and action must be aggregated in order to succeed. There’s no such thing as broken dreams. If you think you already did your best to achieve that dream and still fail in the end that only means that God has a better plan for you. Let’s not forget that God still knows best. Have faith in Him. In every failure there are a lessons learned. And that will become another significant element to succeed. So what is my dream? I dream to be happy and make others happy as well. Let me end my essay with a quote:

“Dream as if you'll live forever, and live as if you'll die tomorrow “
